Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and special friends may choose their favorite book or two to read to our class. Please keep Mystery Reader a surprise for your child! Send 3 clues about yourself before the Friday that you plan to read to the class so the students may guess who the "Mystery Reader" might be. The Mystery Reader may choose to be in person or on Zoom. Hello Families! I hope your weekend was fun and restful. We had a fantastic week together in first grade! Our class is working on becoming a family, supporting each other, learning routines, cooperation, collaboration and perseverance. We are a lucky crew! We also learned a few songs and poems (Peace Like a River, When I Was Young (AKA the pirate song) and Peanut, Peanut Butter and Jelly!) Perhaps you heard them at home? I have a few photos to share from this past week:
Thank you for sharing your children with me! Open House is this coming Thursday at 5:00- please be sure to look out for directions from Steven Patterson. Also, could you please RSVP to me so I know how many parents to expect that night? I look forward to seeing all who are able to attend the Open House on Thursday! Warmly, Heather Dear Families, Wow- what a terrific first day of first grade! After just a few moments, the students really warmed up and let their precious personalities shine. Thank you so much for all you did this weekend and this morning to make them feel excited about coming to school! You may have heard some of our highlights:

Thank you for your partnership! I can't wait to see your beautiful children again tomorrow! Warm regards, Heather Hello Families,
I was so happy to meet my sweet students this week! I hope the Meet and Greet as well as the pre-assessment time made your child feel a bit more excited (and less nervous) about starting first grade on Monday. We are going to have a fantastic year! Thank you to all who were able to fill out the Parent Questionnaire/Google Form (I have 4 responses so far). I am reading through your responses and taking notes-- thank you so much for sharing information to help me get to know your child a bit better! I will be creating a mailing list with the contacts you provide in the Form after I hear from everyone. If you need that link again, here it is: click here to fill out the questionnaire. I had two handouts available for you at the Meet and Greet- in case you need those again, here they are:Thank you for all you’re doing at home to help your child be excited for this school year! This begins my 32nd year in education and I’m determined to make it one that we look back upon with full hearts and fond memories. Have a great rest of your week! Thank you for sharing your children with me! Warmly, Heather Welcome to First Grade! I am so happy to be your child's teacher. We are going to have a fantastic year together, learning and growing as a classroom family at Atlanta Speech School's Wardlaw School!
Our classroom is just about ready and I cannot wait to meet all of you! I typically communicate with parents through email, but I also maintain a classroom website where I will post photos and classroom happenings on the Blog tab each week or so. If you’d like to read a bit about me and my background, please click on the “About Miss Borowski” tab on my classroom website: Miss Borowski's First Grade Friends - Welcome Additionally, I have a few questions for you to answer that will help me get to know your child and your family a bit better. I will use your contact information to create an email list for classroom messages from me, and also keep a quick check of info handy. Parents may fill out this Google Form separately or together- click here to fill out the questionnaire. I look forward to meeting you and your child in person at the (optional) Meet and Greet Monday morning (9:00-10:00) and at our scheduled pre-assessment time. I will have two handouts for you at the Meet and Greet: Please have your child bring their school supplies on Monday or on the day of pre-assessment. Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out the Parent Questionnaire! Warm regards, Heather (and, parents, please call me Heather!) |
